Winter Choker and Bracelet Set

This set, along with the following necklace, represents my first time working with memory wire.

For those unfamiliar with it, memory wire is thin, tempered stainless steel wire. The wire is corrosion resistant and will resist tarnishing. Like a spring, it's rigid and snaps back to its original form when expanded and released. The wire "remembers" its shape and retains its coil form. This can make it ideal for projects where you want to attain a certain shape, but also difficult to work with, as it has very little give.

The bracelet shown here is meant to be worn with the clasp resting along the inside wrist, below the thumb, so that the center of the bracelet aligns with the pinky roughly. When unfastened it snaps back into its original shape. Smoky quartz is the stone seen in both it and the necklace.

The necklace also features shell and mother-of-pearl, and can be worn as a choker or a little bit longer in a U shape. It holds its shape well enough that the clasp and chain at the back are almost a formality when worn high.
