Walnut Fruit

Yes, inside this fruit is a walnut. Walnuts are stone fruits effectively: the nut is a single large seed held inside the fruit. The fruit itself is quite aromatic, reminding me a bit of citrus, though apparently inedible. This came off of tree at our wildlife rescue center, and is displayed atop a brass brazier filled with infertile cockatiel eggs from our birds.
