While I am not fond of having Cornfest out at the airport, it does have certain advantages; the presence of these planes is undoubtedly one. This is a WWII B-25 Bomber, re-furbished.
Nice! They really had some beautiful planes here, I couldn't resist getting in as many shots as possible. Sadly, the day I took these they were just starting to put most of the planes away, but I caught them rolling out.
They also had a MiG-21 there, flown by a local who's a former veteran of the Polish air force. People would donate toward air timme (IE, fuel) and then he took it up and did several fly-bys. By the time I was able to head back and check them out more closely he'd sadly stowed it already.
Yeah. The shots of those vintage planes are excellent! We get more modern stuff here at AVL, but it's always exciting when a vintage or rare aircraft stops by.
A Polish MiG-21 you say? That's awesome! I'd love to see that someday.
