The Girls by Windthin The Girls by Windthin
Bruce and Winter up top of our cage complex. Bruce is an ornery female purple, while Winter is a very stoic, stubborn white and gray female English.

Hehe that expression of the English budgie XD Are you sure that Winter is a female?

Oh yes. And believe me, she acts female, too. Female budgies love to tear things up, and Winter's favorite game is to lift and drop heavy really heavy objects over and over.

Ok I was just wondering because the cere seems not fully coloured. It's pretty difficult to say from their behaviour that they are male of female (apart from their obvious sexual behaviour when they are adult, but then the cere is fully coloured too).. Is she still young?
My males like to tear things up as well! And my oldest male likes to throw things of the table, such as thee spoons and a small match-box XDD little rascals.. =P

Oh, no, we've had her for several years now. She's really amazingly healthy for an English. The only other two we've had were both not nearly as athletic. Her cere also has gotten more pale over time, admittedly.

Doh I meant 'teaspoons' (thee is the Dutch word for tea  wasn't really awake I guess.. XD)
That's strange, that the cere got more pale over time. But I'm glad to hear that she is healthy!

No worries, I am certain your English is far better than my Dutch.

It is curious. I wonder what she looked like as a wide-eyed baby.

Hehe her eyes are hidden below tiny feathers, making her very narrow-eyed (looks a bit stern, don't you think?). One of my budgies (King George) has that too, but not as extreme as your Winter. The salesman said that King George comes from a line of English budgies, although I highly doubt that (he is just as small as my other 2 budgies). But it gave us inspiration to give him a noble English name :giggle:

Oh yes. Englishes definitely have that stoic look to them. Winter is our third and largest English we've had, and the most healthy as well.

Oh yes. We love our flock. Don't let Bruce fool you, though, she's the vicious one. Winter is just a big old softy.
