This pheasant chick arrived during my most recent shift at Oaken Acres Wildlife Rescue Center. At first we were uncertain what it was. The person who brought it in had said crane, but we figured probably heron, given cranes don't nest around here. But that did not look right either. It looks a little like a chicken, the feet long-toed and just faintly webbed. I suggested quail, and Kristy said it was too big, which made me think pheasant. Sure enough, a search showed that it almost certainly is one, though time will tell which species.
