New Tripod Case 4

My parents-in-law got me a terrific gift this past Christmas: a brand new tripod, way better than my old one, which was scavenged up second-hand and held together with tape and wire and toothpicks.  No, really, it was.  This new one can not only match my height but even exceed it, has a hook for attaching a counterweight, a detachable top for easy installation of your camera, an optional bolt for heavy-duty gear, two levels, and can shoot on the full vertical, unlike my old one which could not manage a fully vertical shot without playing with the legs.  It's also twice as light easily despite being significantly larger.  It's terrific.

The case, sadly, was not made for a man my size and the strap ripped out of the bottom almost immediately.  Fortunately, I had intended from the start to make some alterations to it.  I bolstered the bottom of it with black duct tape and added a decorative ring of silver and gold tape as well, cut away the strap and took apart an old belt to make a fully adjustable strap, and put it all back together.  Now it's functional, sturdier, and works well with my aesthetic.
