Description
This hoverfly masquerades as a bee to fool predators. Since it, too, feeds on nectar and pollen, this is a great disguise. Unlike bees and wasps, it has no stinger. They are also known as flower flies or syrphid flies and are very beneficial. I've placed them in the wasps and bees gallery due because of their appearance, but they are entirely unrelated.
