Why I Cook: My Wife's Fight With Food Allergies Food is universal. It spans cultures and continents and countries. We treat our friends and family to lunch. We take clients and strangers out to dinner. We buy treats for our pets, and maybe sneak them a little of what we're snacking on. We feed the bird in the park, the fish at the ornamental pond, the monkeys at the zoo despite the sign. Can you imagine anything so alien and ostracizing as somebody who does not eat?

Green Goggles 5by *Windthin

Artisan Crafts / Costumery / Props & Accessories

I've been on a tear of late making goggles. This is my third set, and I try to make each one different. I used a pair of costume glasses to make these; took copper and gold-leaf pens to them, truncated the ear-pieces and made use of their distinctive shape to attach them to an old leather belt I have for a strap. The faux screws in the frames make me realize how easily I could attach real screws to my next project. First of five pictures and one collage.
