Description

This young red-tailed hawk has a bad wing and bad leg following a fall from its nest. Raised since it barely had feathers by the staff at our county wildlife rescue center, he makes his debut here at their open house on July 20th, where a contest was held based on donations to choose a name.  Eragon won out.

Look at his keen eyes, his open beak, the delicate feathers around his neck. Judging by this photograph, it's hard to imagine this animal could get hurt. But he got, and recovered.
The face of Eragon, this noble bird, shows us his decisive character incapable, by nature, of giving up. Or perhaps I'm reading too deep on the picture, and it's just a beautiful close-up of an incredible creature.
Of all the photos on the collection Windthin's collection on Eragon, this one is the one most readily impacting, mesmerizing the viewer by putting him face to face with the bird, with incredible detail and proximity. Though the image could have been adapted color-wise to make it produce an even more striking sensation on the viewer, it's an already powerful and well-taken snapshot of an animal.
