Darling Starlings 2

These hungry little babies sport day-glo beaks with good cause; Starlings like to nest in deep niches and recesses, where it's quite dark.  These bright beaks help them deliver their bounty to their chicks.  As you can see here with the incubator door closed, they remain quite visible.  Some wildlife places don't handle starlings, since they're not indigenous, but ours handles almost all wildlife (we're barred by law from handling bats and skunks due to a foolish fear of rabies).
