I am a dabbler. I am a creator. I am a teacher. Among my hobbies are lapidary, carving, sewing, cooking, poetry, short stories, world design, game design, roleplay, photography, graphic manipulation and creation, DJing, bump making, parody writing, remixing, recording parodies, altering and decorating hats and clothes, making walking sticks, staffs, and canes, and generally anything else that comes into my head. I cannot draw to save my life, but I love to read, I love to create, I love to reach out and touch the lives of others, and be touched in turn. I am a husband. I am a father. I am a bird owner. I am student. I am too many things for a brief paragraph to possibly communicate. So come know me, and let me know you. On KoL I am known as the DJ Prima Vera Angelhair.

Over the last couple of years my personal style has really... evolved. I've changed, and I've pushed a lot of my skills to new limits. I keep pushing them farther, learning more, and seeing just what I can do in myriad fields. I enjoy sharing what I learn with others, and hope to both take and give inspiration in the process.

DeviantArtist Questionnaire

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 9, 2015, 2:26 AM
Q:  How long have you been on DeviantArt?
A:  Seven, nearly eight, years.

Q:  What does your username mean?
A:  Windthin is the name of my first roleplay character, a Zephyr Illusionist, member of a winged race.  This character proved somewhat prophetic, even though at the time I made it to fill a niche I saw empty; I've since become a bird owner and known for my ability with avians in general, and a lot of the traits from this character seem to define me well.

Q:  Describe yourself in three words.
A:  Mad waking dreamer.

Q:   Are you left or right handed?
A:  Technically right, though I find that there are things I do better with my left.

Q:  What was your first deviation?
A:  I am no longer certain; I know I had some posts in 2007 when I joined, but I cannot see them up any longer, and suspect I probably replaced them at some point.  The oldest deviations I can find after quite a bit of looking are from late 2009, well after I joined.  I've posted so many deviations that the stats section doesn't even register much of my best work any longer, sadly.

Q:  What is your favourite type of art to create?
A:  I truly can't answer this; I love to create period.  I love to cook and record the recipes, to craft jewelry, clothing, and various props and accessories, to take photos, design graphics, write, and so much more; besides this, I also have DJed for a little online radio station for nearly 11 years now and interviewed a number of artists and personalities, and I have made some music of my own, as well as being known for my bumps and special programming.  All told, I try not to limit myself to any one field; I go where my interests take me.

Q:  If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
A:   I can admit that I wish I could draw, to put a lot of the crazy ideas in my head to pictures, but I am pretty good with words.  I'd love to be able to push my steampunk creations to new heights, too, and I am currently striving to master gluten-free baking, and gradually succeeding.

Q:  What was your first favourite?
A:  Arctic Giant 2 by bridge-troll

Q:  What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
A:  Do you know, I am not certain. I suspect probably drawings or photography, but I will favorite anything that catches my eye.

Q:   Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
A:  Oh, dear me, that is absolutely impossible to answer.  There are so many good ones; there's a reason I have five pages of watched deviants, and that number will probably hit six before the year is out.

Q:  If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
A:  Again, you're never going to get a definitive answer out of me for this; I love to meet other artists period and talk inspiration and ideas.  I can think of any number I'd love to chatter away with, though I think some of the ones I'd most like to speak to are the ones who work with hands-on crafts like jewelry, carving, clothes, etc.

Q:  How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
A:  When my parents passed, I received a number of good wishes, and I've tried to give back where I can, when I can.  It's not always easy with my hectic life; I especially enjoy being able to share recipes with the two Celiacs groups, as I feel like I am helping people there.

Q:  What are your preferred tools to create art?
A:  Ooooh, another tough one.  I work in so many different media.  My camera, which was a present both from my wife's parents and my own deceased parents, and so is very precious to me.  My computer, which lets me edit photos and make and share music and tinker with graphics and write journals and poems and stories and SO much more.  My kitchen, where I devise all manner of delectable recipes.  My jeweler's tools and tool box, which I use to make jewelry, steampunk clothing, and accessories.

Q:  What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
A:  My kitchen, my home... the world.  I take so many great pictures out and about, just wandering.  And I'd wager I am the only person around who goes into hardware stores and skateboard shops and antique stores looking for odds and ends to make clothes out of.

Q:  What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
A:  I think the sheer delight and surprise I felt when so very many people favorited my Steampunk Colors and Metals Tutorial in such a short time still lives with me; to this day I am always thrilled and pleased when somebody new discovers it, and always hope that those who are aware of it have found it useful.

Thank you; insects I find are some of the hardest subjects to get shots of, being so small and prone to moving swiftly; some are so thin the camera doesn't know how to focus properly, and you have to take over manually a bit!
